Sissy Marlyn started writing at the tender age of eight, but she concocted stories in her mind as far back as she can remember. Fisher Price toys and Barbie Dolls came alive in Sissy Mind. She aggravated her mother by forming whole towns of either Fisher Price wooden people or Barbie Dolls in the middle of the floor. And of course, since the stories never ended in her head, she didn’t want to tear down her imaginary towns and put them away either. Even her train set became a whole town with multitudes of stories to be imagined and played out, so it was only natural when Sissy discovered one of her older brothers’ or sisters’ typing manual that she would start putting her imaginary stories down on paper.
Many, many years later, after a long stint in the banking industry, Sissy met her beloved husband of almost eight years, and he finally convinced her to give birth to her first manuscript - or as other authors can attest….her ‘baby’. Intimacies was born. When Sissy sold her first 34 copies to total strangers at a large flea market in town, she was sick to her stomach with worry. Would they like it or hate it? It didn’t take long for Sissy to get her answer. E-mails started flooding in, asking, “When’s the next novel coming out? These characters are going to go on, aren’t they?” Her first readers had already developed an unquenchable, emotional attachment with her characters and spurred Sissy on to write more and more.
